The Cold Carrier Certification, offered by the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), recognizes cold carrier companies that comply with the Refrigerated Transportation Best Practices Guide.
This guide was published to provide guidance to companies on the US Food and Drug Administration’s rule for the Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food. The Guide addresses FDA guidelines including the prevention of transportation practices that create food safety risks, such as guidance on how to properly refrigerate food, clean vehicles between loads, and how to properly protect food.
