A graduate in administration from UQTR, Sylvain Toutant began his career with GM Canada and Publicité Martin. In 1987, he joined Groupe Val Royal, and in 1992 helped launch Réno-Dépôt as Director of Advertising and Marketing. He became Vice-President of Marketing in 1994, then President and CEO in 2001. That same year, he was named one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40”.
Following RONA’s acquisition of Réno-Dépôt in 2003, he headed up the Société des alcools du Québec from 2004 to 2008, then became President of Van Houtte from 2008 to 2012, followed by Keurig Green Mountain Coffee Roasters from 2012 to 2014. Sylvain then became President and CEO of DavidsTEA from 2014 to 2017. He also chairs the Board of Directors of Duchesne et Fils, and sits on the boards of Clôtures Frontenac, Chocolats Favoris, and DMB Distribution. He is also a shareholder and board member of the 49th Parallel Coffee Roaster in Vancouver.
Sylvain Toutant is also a coach at the École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce. At Congebec, he sits on the Board of Directors and chairs the Governance and Human Resources Committee.
