Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Warehousing- Central, the incumbent's main responsibilities will be the following:

Operations

  • Ensure compliance with the policies, procedures, standards and regulations in force in the warehouse (OHS, BRCGS standards, HACCP, etc.).

Work Management

  • Plan, organize, direct and control all operations in order to achieve specific warehouse objectives.
  • Ensure the maintenance and development of work teams by rigorously applying human resources processes, such as staffing, employee integration and transfer, skills development, performance management, labour relations and occupational health and safety.
  • Mobilize and empower your team to ensure the achievement of objectives and regularly and adequately inform your staff of the results.

Management Information Systems

  • Identify and report breakages, anomalies and defects to the Innovation Technology (IT) team and ensure follow-up.

· Inform the IT department of the improvements needed to maximize warehouse efficiency and optimize customer needs.

Equipment and buildings

  • Ensure the maintenance of assets and make recommendations for the acquisition of equipment necessary to ensure the efficiency of operations and meet established improvement objectives.
  • Work in collaboration with the building maintenance team for repairs and improvements to equipment and structures.
  • Apply and, where necessary, develop appropriate programs for the maintenance of regulatory and corporate standards with respect to the hygiene, maintenance and safety of equipment and facilities.
  • Take responsibility for chairing the OHS Committee.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

General skills

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (asset).

· Minimum five (5) years of experience in warehousing, logistics or any other related field.

  • Or equivalent work/study combination.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to provide leadership and vision to your team.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships.

  • Ability to prioritize among competing demands in order to organize and manage multiple projects/activities effectively and efficiently, while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of work.
  • Knowledge of procedures, quality standards, laws and regulations such as OHS, BRCGS standards, HACCP, etc. is considered a significant asset.

 

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Fluent French (Asset)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Good knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is a strong asset
