Job Description

We are looking for a Working Chief Engineer to complete our refrigeration/building/mhe maintenance team located in our Mississauga’s Warehouse, near to Pearson International Airport.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours shift , NOT ROTATIVE

Salary Range: $41.00 – $45.80

Type: Existing Vacancy.

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, Chief Engineer will have the following main responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, air compressors, fire& safety auxiliaries and other plant utilities.
  • Ensure compliance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) Act and all applicable codes.
  • Respond to emergency requests.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on the warehouse equipments.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, standards, and regulations in place at the warehouse (OHSA, BRCGC standards, HACCP, etc.).
  • Use the maintenance software (Guide TI) and complete inspection logs as required by the maintenance program.
  • Follow all health and safety instructions established within the company.
  • Work as a team with other maintenance members (building, mobile equipment, and refrigeration).
  • Perform any other duties as required.

General skills

TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Stationary Engineer 'A' – Refrigeration Licence (Class A)
  • Experience as a Chief Refrigeration Operator.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to be on call as required.
  • Ability to work in cold (between 4° and -25°C).
  • Adopt a secure behaviour at work.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Class A Refrigeration certificate form TSSA.
  • Capable of lifting 22 kg.
  • Capable of working at height.
