Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Health & Safety Advisor to support and elevate our Health & Safety practices. 

This role is highly field-oriented and requires a strong ability to assess, understand, and influence safety culture at all levels of the organization. Our organization benefits from a well-structured Health and Safety program, supported by established policies, procedures, and a national team. The objective of this role is to further strengthen and embed these practices within day-to-day operations, ensuring they are consistently reflected across all activities. 

The successful candidate will take the time needed to diagnose the current safety culture, identify opportunities for enhancement, and then lead the implementation of practical, sustainable measures to improve compliance and overall safety performance. 

This position requires autonomy, sound judgment, and a strong field presence to translate structure into meaningful, lasting impact on the ground. 

This is a temporary assignment (about 6 months), with the potential to evolve into a permanent role focused on maintaining and continuously improving OHS performance and culture. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-depth evaluations of Health and Safety practices in the warehouses  
  • Perform warehouse visits and engage with teams to understand strengths, opportunities, and operational realities  
  • Identify opportunities to further strengthen alignment between existing frameworks and day-to-day execution  
  • Provide clear insights and actionable recommendations to support continuous improvement  
  • Lead the deployment of targeted initiatives to enhance Health and Safety practices and outcomes  
  • Translate established policies and procedures into practical, field-adapted applications  
  • Support operational teams in integrating safety into daily decision-making and workflows  
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders and employees to reinforce a strong safety culture  
  • Facilitate discussions, training sessions, and pre-shift meetings to promote engagement and awareness  
  • Work in close partnership with the national Health and Safety team to leverage existing tools, programs, and expertise  
  • Reinforce practices to ensure durability of changes and contribute to sustained Health and Safety excellence 

General skills

  • Degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field  
  • Proven experience in a field-based Health and Safety role, with a strong ability to assess, influence, and improve safety culture within a structured program  
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and credible in the field; able to build trust, operate autonomously, and translate established standards into practical, sustainable improvements
