Job Description

Referring to the Operations Manager the incumbent of the position will have as main responsibilities:

  • Performs general clean up of all warehouse and office facilities.
  • Sweeps, mops, polishes scrubs floors, dumps garbage and recycle bins, performs all cleaning aspects of the warehouse & lunchroom and as well as washing walls, windows and window coverings.
  • Maintains outside grounds (removes snow, ice, and debris, sprays and removes weeds, sweeps
  • Dusting and cleaning of all walls, racking, product and offices.
  • Plan and prioritize work for self
  • Determine needed supplies and equipment.
  • Responsible for proper inventory of materials and supplies. Accountable to administrators for custodial performance.
  • Safe operation of power equipment including Zamboni and sit-down forklift
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the facility, inside and out – remove debris/dust/spills/etc. in accordance with HACCP and the sanitation program.
  • Effective communication with all warehouse management with respect to warehouse operations.
  • Develop and adhere to best practices and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations and Food Safety programs.
  • Respect the warehouse policies, procedures, standards and follow all of the health and safety rules including but not limited to BRC & HACCP.
  • All other duties as required.

General skills

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Forklift experience an asset
  • Ability to work in cold/freezing temperatures
  • Heavy lifting is required (high level of physical fitness & endurance).
  • Previous sanitation experience is preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must have proven record of consistent on-time attendance.
  • Positive attitude with good communication skills.
  • Excellent focus and attention to detail.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
