GCCA: Catherine Lambert Presents Groundbreaking Food Rescue Initiative

Communications, Employer Branding and Government Affairs Strategist at Congebec
This week, we were thrilled to have Catherine Lambert, our leading expert in Communications, Employer Branding and Government Affairs, present Congebec’s pioneering food rescue initiative at the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) Annual Convention. This initiative, which marks its first successful year, is a structured donation program that directly supports the Food Banks of Quebec through strategic partnerships in the cold supply chain sector.
In a dynamic panel presentation to an audience of industry leaders and supply chain professionals alongside Belgian and Brazilian colleagues, Catherine Lambert shared the impactful journey of this initiative. By leveraging our extensive cold storage, logistics and distribution networks, we have been able to rescue and redistribute food to direct it to those who need it most within our communities. This not only helps address food insecurity in Quebec, but also minimizes food loss, creating a more sustainable cold supply chain.
During the presentation, we heard via video from Director of Philanthropy at Food Banks of Quebec, Véronique Beaulieu-Fowler, on how our partnership with Food Banks of Quebec has been central to the initiative’s success, enabling efficient and consistent donations of high-quality frozen goods to those in need. We are proud to collaborate on this important mission and look forward to further expanding our efforts in the years ahead.
